Description

ABCD SCORM, which stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, is a set of technical standards for e-learning software products. It defines how online learning content and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) should communicate with each other. Essentially, it ensures that e-learning content created in one system can be used in another, promoting interoperability and reusability.

Curriculum

This module delves into the physiology of the respiratory tract, defining the critical concept of the Isothermic Saturation Boundary (ISB) and exploring the severe clinical consequences of delivering cold, dry gas—from thickened secretions to airway plugging.

This is your deep dive into the technology. We compare and contrast the two primary methods used in every ICU: Passive Humidification (the "artificial nose" or HME) and Active Humidification (advanced heated systems). We'll go beyond the surface to analyse their mechanisms, benefits, and crucial limitations, including factors like dead space, airway resistance, and the role of modern heated-wire circuits.

This final module prepares you for real-world challenges. What do you do when an alarm sounds? How do you diagnose a sudden increase in airway resistance? Through interactive, case-based learning, we will tackle common troubleshooting scenarios. You'll work in small groups to analyse complex patient cases, defend your choice of humidification, and present your management plan.
