The First Aid Care Provider course is designed to equip learners with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during medical and trauma emergencies. Aligned with NSQF Level 2.5 and developed by the Healthcare Sector Skill Council, this 15-hour course focuses on handling various emergency scenarios with confidence, composure, and competency. The training includes foundational knowledge on assessing accident scenes, recognizing medical emergencies such as asthma, fainting, stroke, or seizures, and implementing life-saving procedures such as CPR, AED usage, and airway management.

Participants will also learn appropriate responses to trauma cases including bleeding, fractures, burns, poisoning, and bites. This course emphasizes a hands-on approach, ensuring learners can perform first aid techniques like splinting, bandaging, use of PPE, and preparing ORS. Designed for students, support staff, and the general public, the course promotes immediate, efficient, and safe responses before professional medical help arrives, potentially saving lives.

Curriculum

Learn to assess the scene, identify potential hazards, and respond promptly using CPR, AED, and airway management techniques. This module emphasizes safe victim handling, the Good Samaritan Law, and activating emergency support systems.

Understand and manage common medical emergencies like asthma, stroke, hypoglycemia, and convulsions. Participants will practice specific first aid techniques, including abdominal thrusts, fever management, and ORS preparation.

Acquire skills to provide immediate care for trauma cases such as bleeding, fractures, burns, bites, and poisoning. The module includes hands-on practice with splints, bandages, wound care, and shock management techniques.
